Bridget Jones Congratulates the Very First Philippine Idol: MAU!!!

Yehey!  And me and Mark and Darcy had the pleasure of having our picture taken during Big Band night with our bet and now crowned Philippine Idol, MAU MARCELO!!! (Even when a hot, burly security guy threatened to pounce on us for suspicion of stalking Mau.  Tsk.  Sayang. Chos. Hahahaha!)

I was not able to watch the entire show since the Christmas Party of my sister’s co-singles in Singles for Christ was held in our house.  (Parang gusto kong mag-chant ng isang witch spell para maging single sila habambuhay.  Charos lang!!! *pauses* O sya…half-meant. hahahahaha!)

Congratulations, Mau!  My final word of advice to you, my dear:  never ever forget why you are there.  Stay beautiful, stay humble while being the diva that you are, and always remember that you are still a person who just happens to have been handed a precious gift: a talent that came from God and the support and love of the people.

I love you, gurl!  Congratulations!  And to the two gorgeous men of Philippine Idol, Jan and Gian, you deserve a standing ovation from all of us and a much-awaited, long overdue “standing ovation” from me. (smiles naughtily)

Bridget Jones’s Three Wishes:

  1. I hope next season, they push the age limit to 33 so that I can at least audition (which I doubt will happen).
  2. I wish they open a special category for those who cannot qualify because of age limit.  My wish for this season was to call those 29 years old and above to audition to be in the opening number of the announcement night.  I told Jher that if this happened and I will be chosen, guess what song I would have sung?  I BELIEVE by Yolanda Adams from the OST of the movie, HONEY–the song that the 12 finalists sang in the opening number.
  3. If these don’t happen, I hope they audition for ordinary people to judge.  That would be a nice gimmick.

Of course, I want any of the three to happen to me…

For the 1st season of Philippine Idol, Bridget Jones…OUT! (since July 22, 2004. hahaha!)

This post is lovingly dedicated to Mr. Leo Salonga for his inspiring comments.  Thank you for dropping by.  I do hope to see you soon!  Hugs and kisses!  Cheers to world peace! 🙂

    Miss you, my Bridget dahlin’

Ahhh, ok. I just finished reading the comments from your previous post. Now I know why the “heartfelt” dedication to Mr. Leo Salonga. LOL 😀

Anyways, glad you’re happy with the outcome of the show. Siguro naman, makakatulog ka na ng mahimbing… 🙂

  3. Schizo says:

Sana masaya na si Leo Salonga.

I don’t think kamag-anak sya ni Jovito or Lea. Baka ni Asyong Salonga. Chos! =)

I’m sooooo happy Mau won. Bibili ako ng album nya, pramis!

  4. Mekeni Rogers says:

Congrats to Mau from all her supporters here in Riyadh. We became instant fans when we first watched her compete at TFC’s (ABS-CBN) Star Quest. Since then, we followed her saga until it culminated with her being crowned the first Philippine Idol. A sweet vindication indeed. Well-deserved victory.

You can never put a good talent down, di ba?

Can’t wait to see her compete at the World Idol and have her own CD.

    Thanks, Bridget, for the update.

    Cheers!!!

lani: naku, ate! buti na lang may youtube. i was able to watch the announcement at napaiyak din ako. mostly kasi dapat ako ang philippine idol. chos! hahahahaha! missed you, te! magaling ka na?

  6. jcdaclison says:

snglguy: it was “heartfelt”, bro! ang ganda ng comment nya di ba? ay, hindi pa rin mahimbing kasi…AMERICAN IDOL na on January 2007! yeeeey!

  7. jcdaclison says:

schizo: masayang masaya na sya, mare…at buti na lang talaga may youtube. naloka akez na hindi ako nakapanuod, gwabe.

  8. jcdaclison says:

mekeni rogers: i agree! i also think what clinched it for her was Mau’s return to her hometown, Lucena. American Idol does this for the final 3 eh. They feature the final 3 idols on their return to their respective hometowns. I was surprised they did not do it here. Nevertheless, good for Mau! And yes I also can’t wait to see her compete for the World Idol title.

thanks for dropping by! hey, i’ll email you, mr. rogers, about a proposed story…hugs and kisses!

  9. Paeng says:
