JEROME prepares for materials for next session on how to run education sessions on family planning. AUDIO:  boisterous laughter from background brougt about by a desensitization exercise where co-facilitator ERIC, asked participants to think of other terms referring to  penis (titi, tarugo, burat), vagina (bilat, maning babad, cave), and sexual intercourse (manila zoo, sm kaliwa, betchut),  results to wit.

Manila zoo and SM kaliwa as other terms for “sexual intercourse”??? damn, i’m getting old. (feels blue, ZOOM IN on camera alternatively CUTTING BACK AND FORTH TO JEROME and phone)…i miss husband. (cutely pouts, picks up the phone and sends message)

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  Start pa lang ako ng next session, husband.  Maaga ka ba uuwi?  I love you! Mwah!

(phone beeps) 

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen, JHER’s message:  Baka mga 5 pa ako uwi, husband.  Bantay ako ng booth sa Heritage.

JEROME (vo)

uuuy!  mamaya pa uwi sya uwi! (smiles and sends message)

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  Date? 🙂

 (few minutes, phone beeps)

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  Jher’s reply:  sure!  san mo gusto?  mall of asia?

JEROME (vo)

aaaay!  kumagat ang husband. pero sobrang layo naman.  (sends reply)

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  layo naman husband.  training pa ko sa prism.  either ayala or sm na lang if you want?

(phone beeps after a few minutes)

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen, JHER’s reply:  sige.

JEROME (vo)

(internally skips and hops) i’m going on a deeh-eeyt!  i’m going on a deeh-eeyt!

CUT TO:

DISSOLVE

CHARGEN “3 hours later”

Immediately after session, JEROME picks up phone on silent mode and saw two messages from JHER.  TIGHT SHOT of phone screen,

JHER’S 1st REPLY: Mukhang maaga kami alis dito sa Heritage, husband. I’ll just see you sa SM.

JHER’S 2ND   REPLY:  i’m on my way, my love!  excited to see you.  mwaaah!

JEROME sends message, TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  okay, i’ll be leaving in 30 minutes.  we still have a debriefing.

(phone beeps in a few minutes)

TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  okay.  i’m already here.  just gonna look at cellphones and PC parts. wait for u.  luv u! mwah!

JEROME (vo)

so sweet…

CUT TO:

EXT.JULIA VARGAS AVE. ORTIGAS.DAY

CHARGEN “30 minutes later”

JEROME sends message to JHER while walking.  TIGHT SHOT on phone screen:  i’m on my way, lover boy.  where d’ya wanna meet?

(phone beeps after a few seconds)

TIGHT SHOT of phone screen, JHER’S REPLY:  anywhere, lover…

JEROME giggles and sends message…still walking and nearing SM Megamall.  TIGHT SHOT of phone screen with JEROME’S message:  how about having a drink at BALI ICE BLENDS?” (smiles naughtily)

(phone beeps after a few seconds)

TIGHT SHOT of phone screen, JHER’S reply:  saan? ang alam kong BALI ICE BLENDS is yung nasa megamall.

JEROME little pissed off and standing in front of SM Megamall, sends message:  Yun nga.  Hmph.  Nalimutan mo na. (pouts)

ZOOM IN on JEROME’s face as he realizes…panics and sends message to JHER as if his being depended on it:  NASAAN K B?

(phone beeps after a minute)

ZOOM IN on JEROME’S face, alternating TIGHT SHOTS of sweat dribbling from  his forehead, eyes showing fright, hands shaking, phone screen saying “opening message” (AUDIO:  heart beating, orchestra building to a crescendo)….TIGHT SHOT on JHER’S message:

Nandito ako sa 3rd floor ng SM MANILA…

SPLIT SCREEN SHOT of JEROME letting out a blood-curdling scream and faints in front of SM Megamall.  JHER in front of a computer shop in SM Manila, red in fury, ready to throw his cellphone.

CRANE SHOT, BIRD’S EYE VIEW SHOT of JEROME’S body sprawled in the middle of Julia Vargas Ave. as people rush to help…
